Private Property Weddings; Things you didn't know you needed

It’s no secret I have a soft spot for Private Property weddings for a multitude of reasons.
BUT it does take 10x the planning that a venue wedding typically would incur.
There are the obvious things to consider such as marquee, caterer, photographer, someone to set it all up but there are some key details that are often overlooked and can be what makes or breaks your day.

Here are the things you didn’t know you needed… Private Property edition.

1️⃣ Catering tent

2️⃣ Generators and power supply

3️⃣ Bins and waste management

4️⃣ Car parking and east vehicle access

5️⃣ Lighting

6️⃣ Directional signage.

7️⃣ Cool Room(s)

8️⃣ Restrooms

9️⃣ Level ground, no underground pipes

🔟 Heating & Cooling

⚡️Bonus 11: Flooring for Musicians

To avoid your day turning in to the likes of another Fyre Festival, I’ve put together a couple of extra handy resources so you can plan your day like a pro on your family estate. Download them below…

5 simple hacks to start Wedding Planning these holidays

It’s Christmas time, your on holidays, unsure on what day it is exactly but you are sure on getting your wedding planning underway before work goes back.

So here are 5 simple steps to start the process without it consuming all of your holiday time but rather gently get that ball rolling so you’ve got a head start on the ‘engagement rush’

1️⃣ The feeling
Whip open your notes app and take a quiet moment to envision the feeling you want to create for your day.
How do you want to feel?
How do you want your guests to feel?
What is the mood like?

2️⃣ Time of year
You don’t necessarily have to get laser-focussed on a date but instead try a time of year. What works best for you? What time of year is your favourite?
If that can be a match for how you envisioned your day to feel then you’ve got a winner.
You can then have flexibility on dates dependant on vendor availability.

3️⃣ Space & Location
These are big influences on the outcome of your day.
What kind of space best suits the above?
Venue, Barn, Open-air, Marquee, Tent.
And then you can start to filter down to a location.
This comes with a bit of insta-stalking, some research or lean on a wedding planner to scout locations for you.

4️⃣ The vendor team
Again, do some Insta-stalking and really get a feel for those vendors. Pay attention to the kind of style/ work you’re drawn to. The personalities of those vendors and that will help you gel perfectly on your wedding.
Soak in their content, stories, videos to really get a feel for them.
Follow, screen shot and save.
And then….

5️⃣ Start enquiring
Reach out, send them an enquiry and begin that next process with vendors.
The right team will be able to bring all of the above points to life for you -and some!
